At my previous house one former owner had seen fit to artex every ceiling in every room in a different pattern. No doubt it was fashionable at the time, but the swirls, in particular, nearly drove me potty. Firstly, moving plasterboard to the work area is best done with two people, but if you are working alone, following there are ways to save you from back injury. Even large sheets can be carried safely and the procedure for this is to hold it in the middle under your arm, pointing in the direction you wish to go, bending the knees and then standing whilst gripping the top edge with both hands. This stuff is infamous and definitely not the most comfortable material to work with so it makes sense to be covered from head to toe in protective overalls before it even comes out of the wrapper. Take care to tape up gloves onto long sleeves so there is no exposed skin, wear eye protection and keep your face covered.

While your new plasterwork is drying out, efflorescence will probably form on the surface. Efflorescence is a white or yellowish furry crystalline deposits that are natural salts coming out from the walls or ceiling during the drying process. This is no big deal and you should wipe this off with a dry brush occasionally until it ceases to re-appear.

Once the plaster has dried out completely, you can then begin your decoration.

These smart bathroom heaters may look like fun ladders for small children to climb but there have been a few unfortunate mishaps when it hasn't been securely fastened to the wall. You would be correct in thinking this is a plumbing issue - the rail will have to disconnected from the heating supply, but it's also a drywall repair.
