whats a fair rate to offer an 18 year old semi skilled taper on an hourly rate at a short term contract approx 4 weeks work? dont want to apear a tightarse and want to pay enough to get an honest days work. in case i get any job enquiries its already spoken for.

I think you can afford to be 'economical' considering theres thousands like him out of work. I'd pay no more than a tenner an hour.

This would be the place to post a job vacancy (http://www.tapingandjointing.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=17). 10 an hour seems generous considering his age and experience, I know a 50 year old tradesman who works for less than that.

50 a day for an 18years old - that's what i was on....... many moons ago :)
