I am new on here and I would be very grateful for any info on this application. I have a couple houses that have this shadow reveal baseboard. I am curious if any of you have worked with it before and might have some tips to make it easier. I pulled the picture from the web but it is similar to the application we are going to use. I used it once more than 20 years ago and I cannot remember but I'm pretty sure we installed after base but the builder is wanting it installed prebase. Anyone?

Never used it, can't help you on that one, but will be interested to see how it's done

Board to floor best to joint first fix shadow trim, make sure you have the right screws they have a narrow head that counter sinks into the ally trim, run a knife blade across wall and trim, no clunks thats ok. Joint with fast set / hot mud, when set put the finish coat on. Clean up the shadow rebate with a bit of hardwood to remove excess filler. Been on jobs used on skirting and continued round doors inside and out WHAT A PAIN.

I have approx 500m of this to do in a new house soon, around all door linings and for a rebated skirting. I use an L-trim for it. The metal Lafarge bead is a mental price. Here's one I did earlier.http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm63/TonyMugford/2012-05-29_16-52-23_551.jpg (http://s293.photobucket.com/user/TonyMugford/media/2012-05-29_16-52-23_551.jpg.html)
Fixed the boards horizontally so the trim was in the tapered edge meaning no 'flare' at the bottom.
