hi guys
would be interested to hear from you guys what the best hoover or vacuum is to work with flex sander that I have just bought ,as my porter cable sander packed in last week , it worked with the porter cable vacuum fine but low and behold my vacuums packed in this week, cant complain ive had it for 7 years,
needs to have the yellow 110v female connection to work the hoover from the sander switch

You could try renting a Hilti at 17 per month plus vat. Best vacuum by far, had mine four years, no bags. If any thing went wrong they pick it up,leave you with another and return it fixed(mine has never gone wrong).

i bought a q-tech but it is knackered already! sounds like a jumbo jet also very heavy to lump about.
just bought a nilfisk alto and could not be happier. very very light & quiet. would recommend it all day long.
model nilfisk aero 26-01

Hi Paul - re: noise - this should have been fixed under warranty - small fan inside seen a few of these go after 12 months usage although now improved and not seen it happen for a long while

If you want it fixed so you can keep as a spare vac let me know

Does this model have the female 110 volt point on it as my sander has the male connection

Hilti is by far the best. I had one on Fleet too. To buy, they are 599 + vat. I've just bought a Fein Dustex 25 for 205 + vat. Didn't want a big hoover this time as i'm trying not to do too much taping as I fucking hate it now. Jase Hag bought a Q-tech and had problems with it. Load of shit by all accounts.

The Nilfisk Alto is a good hoover I had one on hire last year and really liked it. Don't get the Flex, they're p!sh. Had the Sparky Vac too and they're not very good either.

I've got one of the older flex vacuums, it's been going nearly 10 years with the only maintenance being 1 filter change. Can't fault that.

my porter cable is still going but handle has come away so nightmare to move about had it fixed by a good joiner lasted a week and split from hoover again , never had to change filter either

I have a porter cable sander and vacuum, had them for 15yrs bought from the USA and neither has missed a beat, problem is I gave them to my Son when I stopped jointing now I have to replace them, I recon I will get the same sander from the USA again But they have discontinued the Vacuum.

same vac different colours! :)963

Only reason we never push this for drywall is it's slightly underpowered for the job - if you guys are having success using the nilfisk in question i would be happy to see what price these are available for in 110v im sure we can beat prices you are looking at - this one is the updated version with the dial instead of on off rocker switch

sod the vac, get the flex edge sander on a pole out u lazy buggers. Hilti is best, q=tech is big heavy but works ok, alto is bit small imo have to empty a lot. flex is ok... festool is shit and cost arm and a leg. don't like to hire tools but maybe worth doing that with a hilti to see how you get on. its by far the best no question. I wish I had bought one years a ago not wasted so much on all the other types.

TonyM

Hilti do make a more compact hoover, the VCU 20. Same motor as the big one, just half the dust capacity. I think it's 475+ Vat
