I'm looking into buying the flex GE5 power sander + flex vacuum 110v just wondering if anyone here can the recommend the kva/kW power of generator needed for optimal running of both the sander and vacuum simultaneously?

hi minksy,i run the ge 5 and bosch vacuum of a standard 2.2 Honda genny.
the sander is 500 and vacuum about 1200 so 2.2 should do but check the kw on the flex vacuum.
could go bigger on genny but then they start getting seriously heavy but 2.2 runs mine fine.

Hi mate cheers for the reply . is that a 2.2 kva or kW Genny ? Am literally just starting out on price work and last thing I want to do it fork out 500 on Genny not powerful enough to run them both together .

Sweet thats on my shortlist of about 10 possible gennys lol and it only weighs 36kg so not a complete back braker! . A mate of mine said go for something at least 2.8 kW but surly .1 kW can't make all that much difference?

I run a pramac 4000 Genny. Plenty of power for any sander and hoover combo.

be nice to have that power dmc,but if I was starting out with a budget the stephill 2700 at 389 would be the 1 I would go for.m8 says he doesn't see any difference running from the mains or the genny.

You should have a look at the age engineering website, they have a really good choice

I was advised that I should get at least a 3.3kva Genny when I got my sander/vac.

nice genny minksy, know a guy who has it,bit more awkward to lift,as in you have to lift it higher up to clear your knees when walking but has got plenty guts in it.
