At a small job this morning. I had to nip round to the local B&Q for a few grams of easi fill 45 as I had ran out earlier.

Wait for it.... I had to pay 15.98 for ... not two bags but a single measly 12 kilo bag of setting compound (or maybe its only 10 but thats not the point) It was buy that or I had the option of driving across town for 30 minutes each way to get to my normal merchant. Do they not realise theres a recession on? No wonder the shelves were still full of this gear and their 25 a bag Gyproc joint cement.

Bye bye B&Q. :( #robbingbastards

to us B@Q are like the wetherspoons of the plastering industry, if i am doing a large plastering job i can get pallets of plaster cheaper than most places as it has a short shelf life, but they will also price match and beat by 10% any quote you have within a ten mile radius, so they should price match for you, thing to do if you have to buy a bag at inflated price they charge is get one and then pick one up at your normal place and take that back to B&Q and get your money back next time your passing

I bought easi fill 20 out of b+q for about 16 (less discount for the Tradepoint thing brought it down to 13). How much you guys getting it for out your merchants?
Only thing I buy regular out of b+q is coving. 17.58 for a box of 4" stuff. I dont have an account anywhere so thats about the cheapest I can get

I would say that you could get a far suprerior product for a more competitive rate if you used USG Easy Sand which is readily available through out the UK!!! but Amestaper would kick my arse if I did!!! :o

No offence, but it is not a better product. It is good as a filler, and I have used plenty of it, but not as a finish as it is too coarse. Easifill does both.

As for Minsters, they are part of the Jewson group and I wouldn't use them on principle, since they tried to charge me 63 for a tub of BG drywall sealer.
