Good website, havent seen this before. Found you linked from a taping contractor while looking for work.
Taper/jointer recently been made unemployed, over 10 years experience with the tools and looking for any information which could help me find work in Spain. I dont even know the translation of my job title, dont speak the language, just looking for some pointers in getting my foot in the door. Can anyone help.

Welcome. What a great place to live and work.

Learn the language, I doubt you would get a job before someone who is native born and bred and from what I've heard recently, the Spanish building boom is over. (If I'm wrong please correct me and fix me up with a job too ;)) A friend worked there in the early 90's building the Barcelona Olympic Village and he loved it.

The Spanish word "pladaur" roughly translates to "dryliner" in English.

¿Tiene usted cualquier vacío para el pladaur? - Do you have any vacancies for dryliners?

Prometo que aprenderé a hablar español. - I promise I will learn to speak Spanish.

La buena suerte a usted JPxTPxMP.

(You can work that last one out yourself)

All in my best broken Spanish, but it would get you by ok.

Nice choice, a fine country to live or work in. So laid back compared to the UK, I like the climate, lifestyle and food.

De nada. I'm not setting a very good example, am I? This is an English speaking forum.

Thats your lot from me en español..... unless its for educational purposes only. ;) Do let us know how you get on.

Which I believe translates into "there's no work in Spain". Thanks Carlos.

I went and worked on the Olympic village in Barcalona and got ripped off , contracts were sold overnight and you never knew who you worked for exactly. Learn the lingo mate.
