I know it says 2 degrees celcius and rising is recommended on bags of jointing compound as a workable temperature. Does anyone have information on drying times ans relative humidity in regards to drying times and the effect it can have on the finishing process. Sometimes it can take forever to dry but doesntthe worksite must be maintained at a steady temperature over a period of time for the compound to cure properly before sanding and painting.

The weather is always a menace at this time of year, it really slows my production levels. As long as we have water, power, lights, and heat we always manage to be resourceful and get the job finished no matter how cold it is outside.

A steady temperature of at least 10 degrees celcius is a recommended minimum for the whole duration of the job and this includes hanging the sheeting, taping and painting.

Joint Compound Drying Times Effects of Temperature & Humidity
Much the same, and easier on the eye, here's another pdf file.

Yeah I know, clearer than the one I found, and much greener as theres only 1 sheet to print. :p
Did you see it goes up to 100 degrees with 98% humidity? In Scotland we would only need to use the left hand side of the page.:o

It goes that far up to accomodate the drywall finishers in Florida. Can you imagine being able to box 3 coats in a day?

a dehumidifier is a must while taping,a electric heat source (dry heat) comes in a close second, rain and cold is your enemy
