I need a set myself for a 2.7 metre high ceiling I've to do. I wasnt going to but a member uploaded a risk assessment for these during the week which changed my mind. Expect to pay 150-200.

Get an extender handle for the box,and the rest of the tools, the only time we (read my son) put stilts on was to do a 3.5 mtr ceiling in Cambridge.

Ive got 3 different sized tapetechs and wont be buying an extendable handle until 2 of these break. Stilts would be practical for getting closer to where Im working without having to stretch so much

I've got durastilts. They are light and comfortable. Only paid 85 for them, as new, off Ebay, from a chap that used them once and nearly pood his pants & gave up on them.

I can highly recommend the SUR stilts S2 magnesium ones, i had them when they first came out a few years ago now and found them much more comfortable to wear than the standard stilts with just the one arm. They have various sizes to choose from and reasonably priced, theres a pair on ebay at the moment new for 175

they're very lightweight compared to some brands and strong

finally going to get a pair of stilts but which ones should i get ?

marshalltown redesigned there stilts a while back and came up with the skywalker 2 they have improved the bad points ie more comfortable foot holder better straps and i shock absorber stlye foot downsides is weight and price around 230
sur stilts make a magnesium one which is the lightest available cost around 165
they also make the double sided one which is very safe and easier on your back cost around 180
ones like the dura stilts can be got on ebay for 50-100 and all have similar components

We use Marshalltowns, I cant remember the model number but they are the ones with the flat feet as opposed to the newer version that has the curved type foot. A definite time saver if conditions are right on the site.
