It's a pre-school. It's an eco-friendly building, consisting of prefabricated panels, with straw bales as insulation on the external walls, sheeps wool in the internal partitions, a sedum roof, and all energy efficient this and that. This is 8th or 9th one i've done for them. Got 3 more to do before Feb, then the new government are kindly cutting off the funding for any more. The guys that do the construction are very good at their job, and tidy with it.

In case you were wondering, the lower yellow board is impact board which will resist the destructive nature of the toddlers that are going to frequent this building.

Nice job Tony, is that red bucket one of those 'hopper' things for beads? Do they work for paper faced metal beads e.g. gypsum or tradeline? And, are they a big time-saver?
Cheers

Yes, it's the basic Sheetrock hopper. Saves loads of time and puts an even coat on the whole inner bead surfce. I use it with Sheetrock tape on beads. Have used the Sheetrock tape on flex bead for the first time on this job for the splayed window reveals, and really like them. I have put normal flex tape through the hopper and it works fine but they are a bit flippy floppy when coated up, if you know what I mean.

I know Tony answered this but just like to add that on a normal three bed house this tool saves about an hour taoing up the whole house

I generally get the place to myself for a couple of weeks when I work for these guys. I like to keep the place tidy while I'm working.

Have got to install Herakustik tiles over the gaps in the ceilings, to absorb the noise of the ankle biters.

All the small windows have an extra detail, 75mm in from the frame, making an extra external angle to fix & joint.

Have a word with your Encon rep, he may be able to get you one for free if you tell him you will use the USG bead. The little one i've go was a freebie from USG. Was it?
