    Default Lafarge GTEC Joint Filler

I was given a bag of Lafarge gtec fast set today at my suppliers to try as it is slightly cheaper than BG stuff. Didnt get round to mixing it but has anyone got experience of using this gear? And does it compare favourably with BG?
    Thanks in advance

Yes been using the Lafarge joint filler extra for about 5 months now.
Basically it's not so good as BG but it's not that bad.
Pros - cheaper that BG, doesn't dry has hard as BG until next day (easy to scrape the waves out)
Cons - thickens up as you use. Turns into a superman mix as you get to the end of mix. Only usable for just over an hour.
Sometimes as bits of plastic in.

Have you tried the Lafarge smartmix finishing compound?

Thanks I'll look forward to using it! No I haven't tried the finishing stuff, does it come in bags or ready mixed tubs ?

Its not to bad, used it on a couple of jobs. Would still prefer BG filler over it though. the ready mixed finish is good, and it dries almost white, easy to sand as well.

Been using the ready mix. Very, very easy to sand. Because of that reason I think I prefer to BG cement. BG was getting hard and harder to sand.
