    Default How many m2 in a week?


    For the competitive among you and I presume you will give an honest answer. Going flat out, on your own, (minus corner bead) how many square metres (or feet) of plasterboard can you finish in a working week (35 - 40 hours)?

    A clear working area with nothing to slow me down on new build, anything between 500 to 800 including a reasonable amount of internal tapes. Jobs for domestic clientelle and working around other trades, probably around half this amount.

    About the same as JP, 500+ m2. Any more than that and quality would drop. It really depends on circumstances, whether people are in the way and condition of sheeting, weather etc and I hate having to share with other trades. If you had miles of straight walls in an office for example with suspended ceilings, 1000+ m2 is possible, ... unlikely, but greatest jobs in the world when you get them.

    Is this thread about whos got the biggest willie or can pee the highest perchance? Size doesn't matter its what you can do with it that counts. I cant suppress the testosterone fueled urges of male one upmanship any longer, so I reckon 700+ square metres and 4 and a bit flats.

    I'm happy to work on 500-600 a week if not doing the sealer coat. On average, a 300-350 sq mtr house takes 2 1/2 to 3 days to complete. On commercial stuff, the sky's the limit. A thousand metres is achievable.

    I dont work on my own so as much as we can but were not doing much taping at the moment its mainly plastering.

    being a hand taper I can do 150m2+ finish a day easily..when i say in a day i mean i use a method of filling all flats/cross joints 1st which as we know sets hard quicker than the verticals,internals and screws then dropping back to the start of the run and filling the vertical joints and vertical beads.Then got a few hours to let that dry so (meterage permitting) I fill the same meterage in another area.The next morning its a tight trowel coat over both areas (flats and cross joints first and beads. Then by the time that coat is finished its back to the start where the 2nd coats dry enough to finish coat.that works out at 150+m2 finish a day and you can gauge exactly what ur earning a day based on ur m2 rate.All depends on wall height/easy access/amount of internals etc but usually it works for me.

    Average around 500per week, works tight for a few weeks so done one 400m2 house in the last two weeks. 700m2 is entirely possible every week but work never seems to flow that nicely.

    The house ive just done for a different company is such a low rate, 1.65 supply! But works work i suppose.

    If I'm working 8 hours per day which is effectiveley 7 hours, I probably make about 400 to 500 meters per week ,of quality taping and jointing (and that's without rubbing down) . However, if I'm flat out with one break, as Tony would say, the sky is the limit.
