    Default what price to pay

    hi everyone

never used this method of finish before was just wondering what is a fair price to pay someone

we are going to be doing a 3 bedroom house wall and ceilings would prefer to have same person to board and tape and joint be very greatful if you could suggest a fair price and brake down of the different stages of the process like i have seen beading talked about

where i say fair price i dont want to screw someone to the floor or be ripped off by some cowboy wil pay more to get the best finish

As a rule of thumb it used to be around half what a plasterer would charge, but times have changed and I had a taping price undercut by a plasterer only last month.

You wont get a fixed price either until someones been and seen the job. We can yack on all day about ballpark figures etc but nobody likes to give those over the phone, and wont do so until they know the square meterage involved and how many beads there are, ceiling heights etc.

You will get what you pay for though.

For a 3 bedroom house you got a bargain. Glad it worked out for you and thanks for letting us know you got the job done.

Sorry about any hassle the job postings caused, another new user had the same problems you did last night. Its now possible for new members to advertise a job in its own forum.

Was it one of our guys? If so, you dont have to name him but any feedback lets me discover whether or not our jobs section is working correctly because since last night it has become apparent that it could do better. In an ideal world none of us would be unemployed, and until then I can only tweak areas that dont work as planned and figure out whether or not the lead was picked up from the site or our Facebook feed.

PS. Yes. Please give him the extra 50 bucks, a good taper is worth every penny.
