Default 17k quote not including profit 」5.62 per sqm + openings - fair quote?

I have been quoted the following as a cost price from my contractor who is charging profit on top - this being a directly employed labour price is this fair?

Basically its 」4.12 m2 for supply and fix of plaster board and 」1.50 m2 for tape and skim on 12 new build flats - the whol job comes to over 17k + VAT + 10% profit.

I am then being charged extra to patch in openings at 」12 m2

I was under the impression it might be quite expensive?

    Any advice much appreciated.

You want it done for free? I would have charged you more.

And me. 」1.50 a metre for taping is an insult, and the boading price is tight too, especially as board has just gone up between 7 & 15%. Bite his hand off, and then when he cocks it up, pay twice.

Cant speak for the plasterboard prices but I wouldnt do the taping for 」1.50m2 even if it was labour only. In fact I know a Polish taper who wouldnt work for that. You need to stop being suspicious of tradesmen, we dont work for minimum wage, do you? I suspect not.

and you can forget the VAT as there is no vat on new build , which will mean it will be costing whoever does the job for up to three months until he can claim the vat back on the materials he has used on your very underpriced job,
