    Default Chinese drywall

Internet news feeds are going crazy with "Toxic and poisonous drywall in Florida" stories every few minutes from lawyers and home owners. It's the same story (copied and pasted) a thousand times. Has anyone in Europe came across this dodgy plasterboard and can anyone from North America tell me whats the story only from a contractors and builders merchants perspective?

I'm not interested in the megabucks claims and lawsuits that leave me struggling to stay awake ... if possible.

The latest concerns about Chinese drywall focus on reports that radioactive substances may have been included in the imported product.

    I will make one point.
It must be cheap shit if they can manufacture and ship it half way round the world for less than a local producer can make it.

I had only heard it mentioned on news feeds Twitter and social networking sites. I've not come across or heard of any problems anywhere in Europe. Would like to hear if there is a health risk because I work with the stuff all day.

Toss it hwere exactly? You cant just chuck it down a big hole, or can you in the USA? it would cost a fortune to ditch it here.

Making an allowance for buying in bulk, regular plasterboard would be roughly 3 a sheet here. Lets guesstimate that the Chinese stuff is half price.
That works out at over 97k condemned stock. What if? Some plasterboard had already been used? Claims from homeowners, your already out of pocket for construction, then having to pay again for removal and then disposal of a hazardous product. This is a major cock up that would finish so many companies. I never checked the branding on pallettes of sheeting until a few weeks ago.

How to look for American & Chinese drywall problems. I found this on YouTube. http://alturl.com/j99c
A 10 minute movie that shows how to find tell tale signs of bad plasterboard.
