Default Forum is NOT anti plastering

Right, lets get one thing straight! This website is not anti anything or anyone.

I received an anonymous message from someone who believes the taping trade was a threat to the plastering fraternity. My reply is, "What a load of bollocks! Why didn't you bother to register and become involved in a useful debate instead of mudslinging?"

We like plastering, a few of our members are spreads to trade and we feel both trades compliment each other depending on the job at hand. Our door is always open if you feel the need, and are able, to contribute some positive thoughts.

The majority of spreads frown on taping (to put it politely). That's their hang up, not ours.

Prolly sent by a small minded out of work plasterer with a grudge. maybe he has enough spare time on his hands to learn to do jointing like a load of other plasterers. I did and dont regret it except when it comes to sanding
More members who do plastering would be good for this website IMHO

Hes a lazy knob probably who thinks taping is junk because he cant do it and maybe up his way they are looking for tapers which puts him still outa job.

I've been keeping a lookout for this guy deciding to register rather than eff and blind.... but nope, he's still not joined yet. Thats a shame because theres room for thousands of plasterers on here.

PS. Maybe youre right about the lazy knob because the message was sent at 3.56am UK time.

It's because they know that once us tapers buy a hawk and trowel, you're only a spot board and a splash brush away from stealing their work!!
Plus we have lots of sandpaper at the ready and finish to fill it too.
Only joking plastering is an art form, but if you have been taping for a few years, and have a couple of spare rooms in the house you can practise on, you can get up to an acceptable standard no bother.
