Default Taping between precast concrete ceiling panels

I have a condo with precast concrete ceiling panels. Originally the panels were taped on each expansion joint with mesh tape and had popcorn installed over them. Most have cracked. I plan to skip trowel the ceiling. I took the popcorn off and can see most of the mesh seems intact with missing mud. How should I approach the repair? Thanks!
