Fitting board to timber battens
Hello,
I'm not a expert but I do quite a bit of taping and jointing on property refurbishments, however this is either dot and dab or screwing to study partition.
On my latest project the walls look ok but the plaster on a lot of it has actually lifted off the brickwork, so dot and dab is out the question and I don't fancy removing all the plasterwork,
So I'm going to batten it.
My question is what timber should I use, I was thinking of using 25x50mm roofing battens.... what do you think ?

If you fix battens to wonky plasterwork, you will get wonky walks. Better to fit a gypliner system.

Plasterwork is not wonky and I did think about using MS batten however I've never used this system before, but I quite often use timber stud walls so I thought timber would be the best way for me to go, however I don't want to fit 4x2 or 3x2 to the existing walls when something smaller will do, if MS is the way to go then I'll give it a go.
Thanks for your help TonyM
