    Default London Olympics construction contracts

Not sure if it's the weather but everywhere i look in the building trade it seems like a ghost town at the moment, no really decent contracts kicking off it seems apart from the Olympics in London, but they seem to have been scaled right down from some of the original plans it seems.
Did anyone on this forum get a sniff at the Olympics contracts ?

I think the foreigners have the work for the Olympics sewn up. There are some good paying jobs out there. They are just hard to find. The top paying jobs usually have established jointers that have worked for the company for quite a while, so they are reluctant to try new tapers in case they are crap.

I have given some budget rates today to a customer and as I typed I thought that's cheap.

Last week gave a guy a price for some work 28k - said he was looking to pay 9k

Think is I have been there done that on the sort of job he wants and it is going to cost him 28k
