Most wet and dry vacs will work, everyone has their own preference when it comes to vacs some of the popular ones we have seen over the years are:

    Porter Cable 7812 & 7814
    Flex S36
    Makita 440 & 446
    Mirka 415
    Fox Pro (square vac)
    Gypro Power Sander Pro Vac
    Festool SRM 45

Can get details and prices for all the above if youre interested

i used a bosch gas 50 for about 4 years with a flex sander and it was a great hoover all be it a touch on the loud side!!! im currently using it with the festool sander and to be fair it struggles, needs emptying more often but i think this is just down to its age. Hopefully be replacing it with festool hoover once work picks up!!!

If you want to push the boat out go for the hilti vcu40 or vcu50 they are the best on the market. You can sand 1000m2 + and it still wont need to be emptied. They are very quiet as well, and no bags that split after 2 rooms..

i've heard about the hilti before it looks very similar to the festool aswell. A lot of the fixers i've worked with swear by hilti tools they reckon you cant beat them. I cant find many places selling the hilti one though, might not be looking hard enough!!!

you probably won't find any resellers with the hilti as they have made the most bizare decision to only sell direct to end users ! which is stupid as we are contractor/reseller/house builder/residential and commercial lettings , and they won't sell me a single product, as they are concerned we would sell it on again!
google hilti and give them a call they will sort you out - just a little bit of inside advice most of the decent vacs in the market are actually produced by ALTO - google alto and you will find a stack of resellers, all they do is rebrand and re colour.

    Default vacs

we stock them if you are interested, have a look on our site or pm me for pricing. The Mirka branded vacuums are also made by alto, they seem to be busy! very good vacuum, most power and best fiitration system out there.

I have a porter cable sander with a triggered porter cable vac , Had it over 10yrs replaced head brush and 2 drive cables. I think its lasted because its 112v NOT 110v imported from the states .
