    Default New crate for tapers!!!!!!!!

Safe Step crates are allowed on site! Similar in size to the lemonade crate and H&S are ok with it, it was an HSE who told me about it.
You can also print off a Statement Of Conformity to appease anyone who asks.

Weve been using these for years. Good alternative to a crate.

I know what you mean I nearly came a cropper reaching out above a stairwell I stood at the corner and it gave way!
I never had any probs with the crate in those instances.
How come you still get away with using yours?
Is this on housebuilding sites or private work?

when i'm on house bash sites i'd love to use a scaffold board and 2 tubs but they just wont allow it now. its all bollocks now so it is. Hard hat indoors, gloves, hi vis vest, goggles, no radio so you can hear if the Germans are coming , then you walk out the front door and fall down a four foot deep trench! great.

yeah health and safety is bollox. i know of one boy who fell of a filler tub and broke his leg....because he was on the stair using it and over balanced. idiot!

ah hard hats vests the lot is all crap man. i like the gloves though especially in the freezing cold mornings keep the hands warm so they dont sieze up =] never wear hardhats or vests to be fair just because we get away with it its a bit like fishermen "there supposed to wear lifejackets" but they just cant work in them so they dont use them

health and safety oh dear i see people still using wooden scaffoldings lol
