    Default Rocksplicer

Has anybody any experience using a Rocksplicer for sheeting and taping butt joints on this side of the Atlantic? It appears to be a good idea but $67 for 20 lengths from this company were the only prices I could find online.

It would make a better job on the butts, but will push your boarding rate up, which your customers aren't going to like.

I think you could make these very cheaply. 3/8 or 1/2 inch ply/chjpboard cut in 6 inch strips, and staple 2 strips 1" wide of dpc on each side.

How many do you use in, say a house, 10. 15, ?
16 lengths out of 1 sheet of ply/chipboard, just seen chipboard at 10.40 an 8x4 sheet.

Materials cost about 80p a length and would probably take 10 to 15 mins (approx) to make 16

They aren't just strips of mdf or whatever Brian. They have a depression in them to pull the board edges into, to replicate a tapered edge. Otherwise it would result in just another normal butt joint.

Hence the 2 strips of dpc down each edge to create a depression in the middle
