what a bloody nightmare, that means that they will be dishing out fines left right and centre just to fund themselves, yet another stealth Tax coming up. I know we should all work safe and adopt their rules "Where Reasonably practical to do so " however isnt it tough on the small companies who will now have to spend money up to (500 a year) to use a H&S consultant and pay them to tell them what they already know but are not qualified to write themselves. Look whichever way you look at it, it cant benefit us lot, self funding means they need to pay for themselves, like the police fund part of their budget from speeding and parking fines, so it means that instead of offering good free advice and saving lives they will be looking at more ways to pay for themselves. it will be a punishment rather than pratical advise. i wonder if the advice line will go from free to 50p a minute and shit like that.

see below

Health and safety inspectors to charge 256 an hour to tell companies what they're doing wrong will they be happy when all businesses are closed down?
