hired tools before they could sell them
hi, can anyone remember before we were allowed to buy the tools
british gypsum made you sit the taping course and then you could hire tools, you could only hire or use the tools if you had certificate
i remember the great big wooden box they came in ,, wit a weight,
wee yous too call it the coffin lol
wee were working in tenement flats in glasgow , they would be boxes off tools lying about the flats everywere,
i bought my set from guy from lesmahago he started selling them when bg patent ran out just cant remember the name off his company,
the ready mix joint cement he suppleed came in a box ?? it was shit
ahh they wwre the days

That was really the only reason I took that course. So I could get my hands on a kit.
I was also ignorant to the fact that there was a larger choice of tools from other companies, BG had it tied up didn't they? Bless the internet and freedom of information cos I've also learned a lot more about tool development and choices available since this site opened.Your messages are really important to us
...but not important enough to employ a sufficient number of support staff to answer them.

yea they had it all , you even had too use ther material for there machines ,
1st gun i ever used was gypsum stainless steel type ,
yea the internet has helped a lot , theres more tools coming out every day ,

I remember carrying that box of tools up several flight of stairs on a job in Glasgow. To F****D to anything with them by the time i got there. Happy days right enough. In one instance we fired a few bricks into one and got the apprentice painters to carry it, could hardly walk after 10 minutes.
