    Default Maternity leave

In the UK men are now legally entitled to one or two weeks paid time off work for maternity leave if you work for an employer.... I went back to work on Wednesday of the first week.

    How did you get on?

With my first kid the male maternity leave never existed and next time around it was a case of "You had better get your arse back to work!"

In all honesty I jumped at the opportunity because I'm not very good at housework, gardening etc and making multiple cups of tea when theres loads of women and people you havent seen for years oohing and ahhing at the new baby.

The reason for this way off topic thread was that I just wanted to get the jist of whether or not its an acceptable reason for taking time off in this brave new world of PC sexual equality and thought starting a different type discussion altogether that didnt involve "it takes me 15 minutes to tape a house, i eat drywall dust, 12" boxes and my bazooka's bigger than yours... " type of comments would be different and may get some folks who never posted involved.

I was lucky as my boy was born on a wednesday, I played football at the time on a tuesday and a thursday so it didn't muck that up, I think I went back on the monday to find my half taped house already second fixed.
