Hi, I am the UK sales manager of Flex power tools. We currently have two models avalible the WST700 VV and WST700VV Plus. We will shortly be launching a third model which will be the WSE500. The most popular one is the WST700VV. This model does not come with the triangler head. You can buy it at most good dry lining companys and Tool shops across the UK. If you want more information please contact me on 07790990682.

Below is a reason why the machine might be runnung slow. If your friend has done all the below please contact the Flex warrenty repair centre on 01332 755 799.
1. Your friend has not clipped on the sanding head correctly.
This would mean the flex shaft to not be engaging correctly and when the
head is angled in use will sap the drive out of the machine.
2. Is running the machine off a 25metre long
extension lead from a poor 1.5kva transformer or an ancient generator.
The voltage drop by doing so is quite drastic and will lead to
insufficient electricity reaching the motor to power it correctly.
Our other theory is combined with the above, and the unit is possibly
connected (run off) the power out-take of an auto dust extractor. The
extractor probably has bunged up / clogged filters, so will be drawing a
high amount of amps for starters, again off a huge long extension lead,
so the amount of electricity eventually available to the machine is
minimal - this would lead it to be seriously sapped of power and as
Marcellus states "not spin properly".
We cannot imagine any other explanation for the problems experienced.Last edited by Stuart Colclough; 13-07-2011 at 04:17 PM. Reason: incorrect word

Regarding point 2. I see a massive difference in speed between an old diesel generator situated 4 floors below providing power to chopsaws, radios and lighting versus mains power directly through a 110v transformer. I'm pretty sure my vacuum and sander setup need over 1500W to run at full tilt.
I saw a demo of the sander yesterday. Its heavier than the original model and being able to adjust the length was a fine addition although the telescopic T piece kept twisting at awkward moments. The hard carry case was superb but I wasnt impressed with the triangular head, sorry.Your messages are really important to us
...but not important enough to employ a sufficient number of support staff to answer them.
