Don't put tapered edges up to door openings or into window reveals or velux rebates. Make sure you stagger your joints on ceilings, by at least 800mm (2 joists) if possible. Don't put a cut up against a taper, either taper to taper, or cut to cut. Keep your wallboards tight to your ceiling boards, and make sure your screws are in far enough, but not too far that you go through the paper.
