EK I've fallen on my ar*se in it enough times, not as bad as it looks, quite firm, but don't shoot that area very often, that is an old photo taken for a shooting magazine (Sporting Shooter) in 2004. (Article about the club)
An this photo was on the front cover
BM
Sorry to hear about the sad loss of your dog
Bruce was an outstanding dog, best one I've ever had, put Labs to shame with his retrieving, and steady and reliable in the beating line, and my constant companion and I took him to work everyday, I lost to a breathing problem about 6 months after that photo was taken, broke my heart, only 11 1/2
I have an everlasting reminder of him, this photo was taken in 1998 for Shooting Times, another article on the club, and in the same spot as the other article
and was the front cover photo in Dec 2004 6 months after I lost him.
It's an O/U Lanber 3" Magnum

2buck no,not allowed to shoot anything other than Wildfowl on the river
Yes it does hurt bad when you lose a good a good mate (dog) but for all the heartache that causes, I still want one around, the good times, companionship with them far outweigh the pain of losing them

Me and the then Club Chairman in his punt from the same article
This Puntgun was built by a friend of mine, along with the Punt, and there is a short video clip on the net of it being fired, it's 3 x 9 bore barrels

The opening minute of this clip shows that puntgun being fired and a majority of the rest of the video is on the my local river where the above photos were taken, I've known these 2 for a great number of years.
And yes I sat in the same place as they did in a Snowstorm (different day)

Laughing my arse off
You guys call that a blizzard, you like to hunt in the snow. Came to Canada to hunt some canadien geese then, Or better yet, try some grizzly bear, where you might become the hunted.
That puntgun is awesome, My father owned something kind of like that, just not as wicked. It was a bench gun, it weighed about 40 pounds (guessing) and you had to nail it down on a stump. It could take a 50 cal slug, or you could load it with shot. And more barrels circled around the 50 cal barrel that could be loaded with more shot. The barrel was about 4" round, and it had 2 triggers, one to fire the 50 cal barrel, the other to fire all the barrels at once.
Said when they were kids , they would turkey hunt with it, they would put feed out, wait for them to eat, then whistle, the turkeys would lift their heads , then they would let all the barrels un load
Actually, I googled bench gun and found these pics (incase you thought I was full of it) http://s52.photobucket.com/albums/g5.../Bresien%2050/ this one is kind of like it, minus the 2 triggers, and the extra (think 4) barrel's holes that circled round the 50 cal slot/hole
