Is this common with the rest of you guys?
Went to start another house today and found this.
Really rips my shit. I went home for a few hours while the chippies put it right. The boarders are morons.

I saw comparable sheeting or worse on nearly every job I went to before packing it in Tony. The jobs difficult enough without numbskulls leaving any old kack on the walls and ceilings, and speaking from experience especially when I recently spent a whole morning of my time unpaid surforming and using two bags of joint filler to back fill the boards before I could even begin taping.

Not so much common as expected these days tony. Sheeters prices have been hammered as well so they rush the job, they always expect us mugs will put it right.

The problem is we moan then get asked can we get over it which we can but time consuming, if we can't we get called back to put right. And the boarders are off earning money. I know we counter charge but it never really covers your time or the bad mood it puts you in

Yes the boarders are morons and there is a stage when you have to refuse to tape it. It really takes the good out of it.

At least that might drive the message home. Some boarders have no pride in their work. Sick and tired of taping after rough and ready chippie slabbing lately-the bloody job is bad enough as it is. Screws out all over or a lack of them on some sheets and the boards loose. Had to get them to go over the entire job after i had marked everything with a pencil.Made me want to cry-would have loved to buggered off too but this was a cash job and god i need the money! Next time i will walk..

i see this on 98% of houses i do. the bast***s also cut the sheets too long and bend them between the floor and the ceiling to get them in = bursting sheets does my nut in! stood there as a new joiner done boarding above a cupboard and he just smashed it into place ruff as f***!
ingos........ 15mm over the wall side i just taped them spend half a day running round cutting/trimming the plasterboard. taped it and then the tiler started the bathroom walls and went nuts at me! i gave him laldy and told him speak to the boss im sick of taping this pish. a new joiner who thinks he deserves a trades rate when his work is that pooooooor hes like a fu**ing apprentice!
