Skirtings should be price by the linear metre, not exceeding 300mm girth. How many coats on the skirtings? What are they made of? What type of paint? Please don't answer these questions, i'm just inferring that you have not given enough information for us to advise you properly.

Cheap as chips and I know from experience to expect the unexpected or an unfinished job if you accept a low price that seems too good to be true.

it is cheap, it also doesnt sound right, how can you be getting 3.19 for painting over existing walls which i presume have already been paited and sealed, and only 2.42 for painting over new bare plasterboard. this should be the other way round really. anyway it would still be cheap. if its standard emulsion it should be a min of 3.75 for a mist coat and two top coats, and if they want something like dulux diamond matt it should be 4.50pm2, and for the existing you could get away with just two coats so charge 3.25pm2. its strange really but 20 years ago i was getting 4.00pm2 and now you are talking about less than that. its a laugh really.

also Tony is right your skirtings should be priced by the LM not m2, and it is usually about 3.50plm for undercoat and two top coats standard gloss on commercial sites, again a few years ago i was geting 5.50plm for this...joke innit.
