    Default Pro's and Con's

With the advent of the Homax Banjo, what would be the pro's and con's of filling the banjo with Fast Set, and running paper tape.
Would it be an advantage, or a disadvantage?

I reckon you'd get noticeable shrinkage at the tape edge. I used paper tape with fast set on some flat joints recently. I put 2 coats of joint cement over the top. It was dry and I sanded it, and a couple of days later I could see a line at the tape edge and there was definate shrinkage there. I think that because the paper tape expands a bit during the taping process and the fast set sets long before the joint is dry, as the paper tape dries, you get the shrinkage. With cement bedding the tape, it sets and drys at a similar rate.
