Van Nightmare
I'm working flat out just now trying to get some dough together to take the wife and kids away for a week, next week. What happens? Bloody van breaks down this morning, outside Ayr, and its the injection pump thats gone so the garage say £900!!!!!!!
Typical! I'm working for f**k all now then eh?
Thought about scrapping it so had to hire a van 1st though and went down to pick up my tools etc and the guy had already fitted the new pumpso I'm stuck with a £900 bill when I was dreaming of a shiny new van
So now I have 2 jobs to finish for friday to get some money, to hand most of it over to some mechanic in Ayr
RAGING(and the Mrs aint too pleased either)
On the plus side, I hired a Renault Kangoo for £25 a day and they upgraded me to a VW Transporter(Hi TonyM!!!) for no extra charge.
Doesnt make me feel any happier tough

Maybe in the future, Tony. For now I have to shell out the best part of a grand to get it back on the road.
Do you lease yours,Tony? Does that mean you still have to pay for repairs or do they take care of that? I'm intrigued to know the script with leased vans

You said the guy had already fitted the new pump? Shouldn't a garage have the courtesy and take the time to let you know a fixed price before any work gets done? Mine always do allowing me the choice to go elsewhere or sell it on. I reckon they took a liberty and would let them keep the van if it was due for scrap.

Sorry to hear your troubles mate always the same when you get some money behind you for the good things in life something always pops up to ruin it.
My van was written off last week for what I thought was a simple fender bender.

Hiya mate not as bad as thought was written off but only cat C so as long as I'm not worried what it looks like I can buy it off insurance. It's only a Peugeot partner it's not flash but really good engine and low mileage so keeping the workhorse.
sorry to hear of more frustrations mate

This whole f*ck up with the van led to me getting my marching orders from the site! All cos I never finished the house before my weeks holiday.
"Finish the house, get your tools, and dont come f*cking back!" I got told!
Lol I think he actually did me a favour, joiner work wasn't great so I'm glad to be off it

Twice I've had mouthfulls of abuse for taking single days off a job to attend a funeral. One was my uncles, and the other was my best mate. Despite an explanation, the "if you do, then dont bother coming back" words were spoken. So instead of putting someone else on the job, i left both contractors in the shit and never went back, even forfeiting what i was due. I could never work for contractors I thought were wankers.

It was a R*bertson job Big G, down in Ayr, but it was for Donald. He was on hols too at the time but was also furious when he found out! Cant win sometimes, I thought he would have had a wee bit of sympathy seeing he sold me the f*ckin van in the first place!!!! But no, I was just a C*NT that had let HIM down. Pi$$ed me off big time that he never backed me up wiv the agent but hey ho, knowing him I shouldn't have counted on it.
