    Default Apprentice

Does anyone have an apprentice or plan on taking one on? I had a phone call last Friday from a young lad who wanted to work in the building trade after the summer. I told him to stay on at school for another year and I think it was sound advice.

A lot of youngsters, myself included, felt the same about the YTS scheme created by the Thatcher government of the 80's.

I wonder if the building trade isnt an attractive career opportunity for youngsters leaving school these days?

I asked him to leave an enquiry at my website as I'm not able to take a message when I get called on site. He said ok but it turns out hes not such a good listener and missed a chance to labour for a plasterer I know as I couldnt contact him. Who knows why he never replied, maybe hes already found a job or the jobcentre asked him to call?
