    Default bill of quantities

    drywallschool.com

I've priced around 10 larger jobs with Bill of Quantities in the past and never got the job. I'm wondering when the spec says 2 coats of drywall sealer would you add that into your price or would you just 1 mist coat 2 top coat. I'm saying this cause i always add the drywall sealer on to the taping price but been thinking that it may be pricing me out off the job. And when i'm on sites just doing taping for the same contractor i never see the painting contractor applying sealer

Havent been on a site thats used top coat sealer for years. On one just now that was supposed to use it but they went for an extra coat of emulsion instead.

yeah i thought so just didn't want to get caught out not following the spec but other companies are probably pricing the same way to. But on some of the bills they do say that works have to be certified between each coat on walls ceilings and woodwork to make sure your not skipping coats.

you are correct there could coat the place even cheaper just using a water & pva solution :P compared to the 35- 60 for 2 gallon of sealer
