tape and joint over fire board
hi iv just landed a load of plastering but the job comes at a price theres a bit of T&J.
how do you go about tap and jointing over fire board ie
number of coats what gear to use and tapes or beads......
what level finish is best for painting over when finished.....
some parts of the board work it tapered edge to tapered edge then theres cut to cut ???
please help if i dont do the jointing i dont get the plastering

There is no difference in taping fire board to say wall board. Why dont you get a taper in just to do the taping.

Just a thought......your not talking about fire taping or smoke taping are you because thats different again, pretty much just covering the joints with paper tape.Last edited by Dillon; 11-12-2012 at 05:46 PM.

i never thort about that ill have to ask him now you said that mate nice
yer buts whats the best way to go about it mate ie taping and for speed and finish and filling the screws

As I said its the same as taping any other board, IF your asking me how to do that it will take a bit more time and space than we have here, If your a plasterer then you might as well skim it, which is why I got to thinking you might have meant smoke taping. I carnt imagine any one objecting to skimming for the same price as T&J.

If its just fire-taping then 1 coat of joint filler does the trick, tape as normal with mesh tape 1st. Angle tapes, one coat joint cement.
