Walked Away
Turned down about 1200 mtrs of taping yesterday as the boarding was 'something else.' The boarding on the studwork and ceilings had been nailed with big hammer head marks on every one, plus the dot and dab had been done without the aid of a straight edge or level. Told the bloke doing it, "no offence but this isn't good" and to get hold of a plasterer. Makes me die when people try to save money by doing it themselves. would've taken some pictures if matey hadn't been there for the hall of shame.

Good for you Tony Its my firm belief that we should complain or walk away from shoddy work more often, I am well known for it, I just dont see why I should put some one elses bad work right. And if they dont want to use me again so be it at least I wont have to follow crap. The FAct is if we all refused to follow crap work then soon those doing crap work will have two choices, do it right or F**k off. Well Done.

Yeah good on ya Tony. Hope it didnt leave you short of work though, that would be a right pain. If I had nothing else on I would probably just have plodded thru it, so well done for sticking up for your trade. Turd polishers no more!

If the boarding had been passable then we would have fitted it in. It was 3 x 3 storey houses plus offices and fully coved too. The guy had used a mixture of fireline and soundblock, but there were massive gaps around the perimeter of the ceilings so sound from upstairs will reverberate behind the coving. He truly hasn't a clue.
Compare that to a job me & Jase did after work today. A 140m2 shop ceiling which was boarded correctly, albeit for a few screws sticking out. Filled and 10" boxed tonight. Top coat tomorrow and sand on Weds.
