    Default Good morning from Orkney

    drywallschool.com

I would just like to say hello, I found this site while doing an internet seach.

I have been given the task of completely rebuilding a house from foundations up by my sister and BIL. I am now at the stage of the wall and ceiling lining and as a complete amateur I will have to try and learn some appropriate skills.

I have sourced a pallet of 4 tapered edge board for the ceilings after a coment on this site that it was available to try and avoid what seemed to me an impossible task of getting the end to end joints flat without a bulge.

    Regards, Tom

    Morning Tom.

You can buy Gyproc Wallboard 4TE but I believe it's expensive.

If you run short and have the time, the money, and are prepared to hang your sheets with the butt joins between the studs instead of screwing onto them then you could order some Rockplicers from Wilco in the States, or make your own. Both of these links should give you an idea of what I mean and draw the the butt join in enough to hide the tape.

I've never seen them on sale at any merchants here but intend to get some for a self build project I'm starting soon.

    Morning Ames,

Thanks for the "make your own" link, that sounds like a cunning trick. Have you ever tried this technique?
The Gyproc 4TE had to be ordered with a couple of weeks lead time that turned into a month. Cost was 8.81 a sheet.

E.K and DMC thanks for the offer, I will post how my labours go!

No, but when I searched online there were examples and articles elsewhere. I expect it work.
