    Default Asbestos joint cement?


    Hi,

    I wonder whether you know whether or not joint cement used in he dry lining process ever contained ever contained asbestos back in the 1960s 1970s.

    Any response would be great.

    Hiya can't confirm whether it had any in but when I first started (30years ago) I remember it being advertised as "asbestos free" on the bags

    i see a compound there called Synkoloid, maybe the one Forestbhoy was referring to

    Hiya not sure we were either using British gypsum gear then or hope other forum members can help here, it was whoever lafarge bought out "red" something. Sorry I can't remember more than that
