Its been a slow death for a lot of firms since 2008. Fair play to 30 years service though, that's honourable.
Any idea what you are going to do next?

I tried that day rate stuff, you know 13 p/h every day but then you soon get to thinking why am I doing this when I can earn in two days what it takes a week to earn if I go house bashing. Good luck though with what ever you decide to do.

Iv been in the drylining game over 30 years , left uk twenty odd years back , worked around europe and moved toireland , when I left the rate for tacking was 1.20 m2 I was back in uk four years ago and was offer 1.35m2, so it worked out 10 pence a m2 in nearly 20 years, so I can understand why a lot of trademen have the construction game. Iv just turned 58 years young , but can still throw 30+ boards over my head a day by myself and throw up walls aswell , but theres nothing here for me now , so heading back to uk soon . My family are all still in the game and Iv seen some of the work they have to tape over and none of the builders give *******, but thats always been the way, I wish you the best butterfly in what ever you do next , Iv try a few times to get away from this game , but always come back because when you know what yer doing and enjoy most of the time what you doing its easy .
