Elliptical cones
Seems like the stuff we are asked for just gets crazier and crazier...
These are three elliptical cones, 12' high, 12' major diameter x 10' minor diameter and just to make life more interesting they are sliced diagonally.
Here they are set up in our shop ready to strip down and ship to the jobsite. Each one takes about a week to fabricate and until the first assembly it's hard to know if all the geometry calcs came out right. Big sigh of relief to find they fitted together perfectly. Even with our added 'factory' edge tapers it's still going to be a job to get all those seams taped, mudded and finished to become invisible.

Very nice. How thick are those sheets?

There are actually three of them as part of a museum exhibit. They hang from the ceiling at an angle so that people can walk in underneath the short side. Inside there will be a wrap around video display. Not quite sure what prompted the designer to make them this shape but we're happy he did - it's lunatics like him who keep us in business (that and drywallers who just want nice neat curved corners). You don't even want to know what the cost worked out per square foot!
