floats/flushers
What tools are yous guys using to apply and coat your koom tapes? Been using an adjustable plastic angle float for a while now on my second as the tip wears out after a dozen houses + they are kind of flimsy.

Scottishlad, when you say "koom tapes" what are you referring to, as this is probably a regional/local term
im guessing internals?
Before I got the pumps and corner box and BTE flushers I would use a tar brush to apply the mud and flatten in with a knife, then coat and flush with a corner trowel
Go to the tool porn shop (Belmore) look at Better Than Ever, Can Am, Columbia kit, and videos
A pump with an Applicator head, a rolplow and handle will do the job far quicker and easier, and won't break the bank

I'm thinking internals over 90*? I use the metal adjustable corner trowel currently. Tried the plastic but too flimsy. I'm looking to switch to no coat or something that'll easily coat each side individually and stay straight but it's not easy to convince the developer to pay way more for the tape. Want to try the trimtex Magic corner stuff too.
Marcus, if you happen to read this, are you able to get the Manta-ray adjustable applicator head in stock? Thinking of going down that route with a tube. One of the developers I work for loves his off angles and vaulted ceilings and I hate doing them with my current system.

yeah angles that are 90-150degree currently using the marshaltown but you can't apply enough pressure its just too flimsy end up wiping off with a knife http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Marshalltown...-/180289884256 we call it kooms where the wall stops and you have a sloped section that continues up at an angle like roof pitch if that makes sense?

I've modified a bat knife for off angles, folded a crease into it so that the corner isn't rounded. I like off angles to be sharp. Rounding them is just lazy. How is a chippy supposed to mitre a skirting board in a rounded corner?

Heres a bat knife. http://www.belmoretools.co.uk/acatal...exi_Knife.html
Very useful bit of kit
If there's not many off internal angles I'm quite happy to run a flex tape in it, keeps it nice and straightLast edited by Brian S; 24-09-2014 at 07:49 AM.

I've got a couple of them but only really use them for cleaning out buckles etc these days. If the trusses are all over the place I'll use them to put a curve along the ceiling line on pitched ceilings to hide a really crooked line but that's a last resort.
I'll have a go at modding one for sharp angles. Did you cut it into more of a triangle shape Tony or just score the face so it can fold done the centre? You've got me intrigued!!

I had a day off yesterday to take my daughter up to university, and the lad helping me has only gone and fucking rounded a splayed internal with fast set. The only other splayed angle in the house which was in the same room, I did with an inverted flex tape.
