Ames Taping Pricing
Hi everyone,
I have recently started on my own and am looking for some help when it comes to pricing for ames taping.
New build property requiring taping & coving. Ive read its better to price on sq. metre of walls and ceilings and have calcuated those areas. However, how do you guys price for windows & staircase? What are the going rates? Would really appreciate any of your help and experience as I am fairly new to all this.
Thanks

I price by sqm floor area! The more work on the job i.e windows,Vaulted ceilings and external work the higher it goes!

I don't take the window/door openings out my measure. Just a square metre rate straight through. If the builder wants to argue about me including the window space, I just tell him that's where the work is, round the window! If he wants, I'll take the measurements out but charge a linear metre rate for beads, which usually works out more!

How does that work then?
Say you were doing 2 properties that were 10m x 15m, but one had 4 bedrooms and the other had 6 smaller ones, would you charge the same price because the floor area is the same, even though you'd have more partitions to tape. That makes no sense.

He would charge a higher rate for the one with more partitions. E.g. the 4 bed would be say £10 a square metre, floor area, and the 6 bed h would go in at £12.
Personally, I dont measure that way as the floor is the only bit that doesn't get taped lol
The company I do site work for measure the floor areas, and some you win some you lose. Mostly lose though....
