    Default E-procurement

Anyone had dealings with these events? Am I correct in thinking it's all about one thing - driving down costs?

Been involved with a couple for a major construction company, i think the general understanding is that it should save complete overall costs if the complete tender process is carried out 'e' stylee! (eg over tinternet!)

Biggest problem i have with it - like any large contract worth a large sum, you need time to look it over again and again as one small mistake especially with product specification or if you read a plan or bill page wrong you could be thousands out!

Not sure companies are trying to trip us up with these 'bidding auctions' but you do get that feeling sometimes.

They are obviously intended to squeeze prices as much as possible which is never nice, especially at this time.

Be interested to see if any contractors or suppliers / manufacturers are seeing a rise in this way of pricing for work.

a slug fest between sub contractors to see who can prvide the lowest price? odds are stacked in main contractors or clients favour and they win every time, does that sound familiar? to much of a high risk gamble for me
Jesus loves you........ everyone else thinks you're an arsehole.

I think the timescale and contract program is worse than the price at the moment - silly finish dates being quoted on some jobs - but hey ho that never changes ! Keep Smiling (Anyhow its Friday !)
