Spraying Joints
Hello is somebody spraying joints with an airless spray machine
first some history
I bought my first apla-tech from america 2001
using coaters and junior pump then upgraded to cff with wet and drywall
(a shame there needed to close down) The system sounds very good
but in the moment it is in the garage my sons dont use it it is to much hassel for them
I have a wagner long stroke pump with 9 hp Petrol engine and electric motor 110volt
I have also the cannon for the slim line boxes for me is very heavy to use so we dont use it
The airless sprayer can only be used with ready mix ligth you can not use bagged material powder
I think the system is only good for spraying joints, or spraying level 5 or level 6 and paint
Let me know your experience
If you want to know more let me know
i wasted a lot of money maybe 6k
Looking forword to hear from you sorry for my english

Have you tried Wondertex joint cement through the sprayer? A taper I know has no problems using that through his Graco.
I have the Apla-tech pneumatic set up and was hoping to get a Box Canon. Do you not rate it very highly?

spraying
hello tony
he is using wondertex readymix or powder all the powder i used gave me problems my maschine broke twice
the box on the cannon is to havy for me
the quickes way i found is spraying the joint with redy mix lafarge bg profine
not bg yello lid, allteck knauf, suddenbond
I have a love/hate relationship with the aplatech machines it my be good for big jobs
my sons and other tapers are quicker then me with the machine leads, and set up
special in houses
there prefer the 10 and 12inch boxes better finisch
if you want to try the cannon with the box i lend it to you

My mate is using powder, not readymixed Wondertex. He was getting blockages with British Gypsum joint cement powder. We found that the Promix Light had no substance for bead work. That's a kind offer to use your box Canon. If I get some work up your way, I'd like to try it, thanks. I had the coaters but prefer the box finish, so I only use the Apla-tech kit for internals, and sold the coaters.

The Wondertex is the Ultra light one. My mate has both a G Max 5900 petrol and a MK IV or V 110volt.

He mainly uses the CFS tools, and yes, he generally mixes the day before if possible.

BTW. Do you use the actual slimline boxes or a modified normal box with your Canon? I only ask because you say the box Canon is too heavy for you. My mate uses Northstar boxes on the CFs but I had shims made up for him that stopped the box opening fully so there wasn't too much mud in the box, thus reducing the weight.

spraying
I had the slimline boxes i gave them back and use normal northenstar box
wich i found better then the slimline box for not getting to much mu on the wall ther wher harder to push
i use also the cff system befor i broke the machine it is easier than the
cannon pneumatic system and box
after i broke the machine twice a machine what costs £4k i only used redy mixed materials like sudden bond and alltek
for me was awaste of money to buy the slimlineboxes if the normal box is the same not hightop
so i gave them back to will wet and drywall
