I'm talking to you Shakespeare!
Are you a keen or budding blogger? Would you be willing to write some drywall and construction related articles for our drywall forum? Is there something you are passionate and qualified to talk about. It could be about fitting coving, repairing a drywall patch, hanging drywall, taping tool reviews, DIY painting and plastering or even how to price a job.
There are big changes afoot with the planned website expansion and the last thing we want is an empty article forum where guest users will come for DIY pointers, tips and how-to's on any given subject in our illustrious trade.
If you are keen, please let myself or amestaper know by messaging or email. Any articles will definitely get the credit deserved and a link back to your own website.

Writing some juicy readable content is a big step up into a different ballpark compared to the one or two sentences of comments I normally post. I'm working on 3 articles and find it is just like being at school again. sigh

The first thing you should notice when you land on the homepage is that it wont be just a forum anymore. We are trying to create a larger website to cater for a worldwide audience with many different features that can be added over time. The first change to the software will see seperate tabs added for the forum, a new blog, and articles. As an example, we get a lot of traffic from DIY users. They have a look around a few pages and leave because they dont find what theyre looking for in laymans terms. This is something we think the articles could help with.
The blog would be available for every member to write whatever they like and the available advertising space in the blog and forum may help raise their own profile, find work contracts and help us raise revenue to keep the site running.
It basically comes down to adding more features, gaining more members, adding good information to our database, and raising the profiles of everyone who gets involved in the website. A great, inexpensive way to do networking and build relationships with people in the same trade all over the world.
Thats about all I can divulge just now, hopefully you werent expecting any 2 week holidays to the Caribbean?
PS. The timescale is also out of our hands, we need a third party to pull their thumb out of their arse before we can implement it.Last edited by amestaper; 13-11-2009 at 06:09 PM. Reason: eta of upgrade unknown

Thanks for your kind words. Theres 2 or sometimes 3 (lets say an aggregate of 2 and a half
) people putting a lot of effort into making this a success. The first couple of months we werent sure we would survive but, here we are, now 3 weeks short of our first birthday getting ready to add an extension already. Happy days!
I did forget to mention we are considering changing the colour scheme or letting users alter to their own taste. We are also trying to spread the word in places like the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa and the forum software should automatically translate text into many different languages ..... (that could be fun)Your messages are really important to us
