Fire taping
Hi
Just wandered if anyone could clarify whats expected of a fire tape as its not very often we have to do it, i've seen it done on a few jobs and sometimes it looks like the guys just stuck tape on and didn't even wipe down. We've got quite a large ceiling area to do which will be above a suspended ceiling and i was thinking i would just put all tapes on with bazooka then just one coat with a box job done, but then i'm thinking is the box necessary as it wont even be seen??
thanks

Just tape it so that smoke can't get through. Bedding the tape only does the job.

That was supplying but it was approx 3 years ago, no idea what the rate would be now although most likely somewhere around the 75p mark

we get £1.50 psm for fire taping at the moment but the gaffer expects it to be a little bit neater than just slapping it on.....more like a level 2 finish.
i use a banjo taper for this so for £1.50 i'll do that all day long thank you very much!
