Thread: New toolbox arrived on Monday.
Automatic and hand tools, sanders, stilts etc. What's hot and what's not.

Are the alloys standard? Would you really want to throw dirty tools in the back of this?

Downsizing from the Transporter Tony
Looks a nice motor, how much difference in load space?
(Can see now you posted the photo)
Ames
I don't think you can beat VW our Transporter seems to run on fumes.
We tried a few others before we settled on the Transporter, our next one (due November) will be a LWB one with seats in the back, or a Crafter with seats in the back

One of my mates works for a VW dealer and he honestly reckons their resale value is better than any others, they just dont depreciate as well as being a solid, reliable, fast and economical.
I do need new wheels and for the next big job I get I am already convinced by VW - just not sure whether to buy or lease.Your messages are really important to us

This is the LWB Caddy, the Caddy Maxi, so the load length is only 250mm less than a SWB T5. Alright, so I can't get an 8x4 in, but I always get my plasterboard delivered anyway. My mini tower fits in the box nicely whereas it wouldn't in a standard length Caddy. It's got the 2.0 Tdi 140hp engine
as in the Golf & A3, so goes like stink but still gives a good 45mpg. Main reason for changing was for economy and knowing I have 3 yrs worry free motoring again.

We leased as we get a new motor every 2 years, (thats the deal we're on at the moment)
Plus we don't have to lay out mega bucks to get a new van

I wouldn't buy any other make. At the moment, the HMRC are allowing you to offset 100% of the money spent on new vehicles and equipment in the 1st year, against your tax, as an incentive to spend money to help the economy, as opposed to writing it off against tax over a 2 or 3 yr period.
I've leased again, with the option to buy at the end, although i'll probably chop it in before the lease ends for a new one.
