    Default New Van Time Again.

After having it for just under 4 months, i've sold the Caddy Sportline as it really wasn't big enough. Got just over 3 weeks now to track down a nice T5 before the Caddy's new owner picks it up. I've taken a bit of a hit with the depreciation, but was getting paranoid about catching the paintwork when getting stuff in and out with the doors being so narrow, and it was pissing me off somewhat. It'll be nice to get back into a big van.

Know what you mean about not enough room, we've got out van (VW Transporter) till November.
We will be getting a Crafter Kombi next time, and looking forward to getting it, the van is getting a little packed.

Should never have got rid of my T5 Sportline, but it was out of warranty so wanted another new one. Expensive mistake on my part, in buying the wrong van.

    I still run a T5 130 kombi on a 54 plate, has nearly 200K on the clock.

Gets used for work all week then MX & enduro carrier at the weekends.

with a yearly thrash down to the Alps.

I realy wanted a caddy but just a tad to small to squeeze a bike in.

Has been a PITA some times but we have decided to run it into the ground to get every last out of it!

I use to swear by VW but over the last couple of years I have heard some horror stories about
reliability & customer service. But what other van gives you so many smiles per mile?

I think i'm going to buy a secondhand T5 for now, and wait to see what the new Sportline is like when it comes out later this year. Don't want to buy the wrong van again.

    Captain
Is that the one with the 2.5 mangle or the new one with the 2 or 2.2 mangle and 180 bhp?

It's the new 2.0 CRD 102 hp. A bit tame but it'll always remap if needs be. I tried a 180 and a 140 but still need to economise a bit so it's a 102 for now. I managed 4 yrs with the T5 Sportline and the brief Caddy Sportline, drove like a cock and never saw a penalty point. You wait though, I bet within 6 months I pick up some points for doing 35 in a 30 or something silly like that. The common rail is more fuel efficient than the PD engine and all variants are Euro 5 so cheap road tax too.

I believe it was 2.0 twin turbo 4 pot

Not the T5 5 pot as in my 54 plater.

the new ones are a blinding piece of kit, but I just can't bring my self to give VW any more of my

I just wish Honda would import a commercial vehicle, they would clean up.

All the new Transporters are 4 pot 2.0ltr common rail.

85hp,102hp,140hp, and the 180hp which has a twin turbo to get that extra power. The 2.5 5cyl is no longer in production unfortunately. It's all about emissions now and pleasing the environmentalists.
