Just go and get one, tell her afterwards
job done, well except for all the tounge pie that will follow
When you go for one, go for a PCP absolutely outstanding rifles, mine, rested, will put 10 pellets in a 1/2 " circle at 55yds, and great for hunting as well, whisper quiet, and take a rabbit out to 40yds

awesome that must have cost few pounds but don't all hobbies, use to do a lot of hunting in my younger days don't think I have the stomach for it now, get a lot of deer in my back garden don't think the neighbours would be happy, still want to shoot guns though, was thinking about clay pigeon shooting.

Not gas, compressed air, like a divers bottle. Mine was moderately expensive but you can get cheaper ones
Clay pigeon, brilliant fun, only problem is it can become addictive, and then it's £££.
Go an have a go at a local ground, and take the Mrs, some women really enjoy it once theyv'e had a go
Newnham Park is/was a good ground in your area, don't know if it's still going

Good Man
Steve take a look at the likes of the Baikal Over and under, Browning Medallist, Lanber, go for a 12 Bore, the ammo is cheaper.
Have a look here, http://www.guntrader.co.uk/GunsForSa...+O%2FU+shotgun
Make sure the gun fits you, (near enough anyway) and have a couple of lessons.
Oh and join an Organisation, like the CPSA, or BASC.

A few more to look at Rizzini, Bettinsoli, the older Beretta's, Miroku's and Browninig's, Winchester
Try and get a gun with open chokes, ie, improved cylinder, quarter, half, or a multi choke gun.
I started out with a Baikal 627, then had a Miroku 800, and now have a Lanber 3" magnum
all over and unders
Try and have a go with a Semi Auto as well. http://www.guntrader.co.uk/GunsForSale/results.php?fetch=Results&Filter[NewType][]=Shotgun&Filter[NewMechanism][]=Semi-Auto&Filter[Calibre][]=12%20gauge&perPage=30&sortField=Price&sortOrder=a sc
Oh and check for your master eye, with both eyes open, point at something at the other end of the room, ie light switch, ornament, etc, then close one eye, then the other and see which one is pointing at the object.Last edited by Brian S; 20-07-2011 at 08:14 AM.

Next up is a Gas Ram, like a spring rifle without the spring, a bit more money Thoeben Fenman, Weihrauch HW90
Then pre charge and co2,
Air Arms S200 BSA Ultra, with the precharge you need either a stirrup pump or divers bottle to recharge the rifle.
Crosman CO2 Ratcatcher, but you need to keep buying the CO2 cartridges
